Monsieur Momo is an immersive dining experience that celebrates the art of solo dining.
Monsieur Momo takes its starting point from the 1930 French cookbook La Cuisine de Monsieur Momo, célibataire, illustrated by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Written for the bachelor cooking for himself, the book proposes something quietly radical: that preparing and eating a meal alone can still be an act of pleasure, imagination and care.
The project brings this idea into the present. At a time when being alone is often treated as something to avoid, and almost every quiet moment can be filled by a screen, Monsieur Momo creates an experience for one person at a time.
Food, sound, objects and small rituals transform the solitary meal into a carefully composed encounter. There is no need for conversation and nobody else to entertain. For a short time, the guest is both the audience and the protagonist.
Monsieur Momo is not about loneliness. It is about the pleasure of your own company: eating slowly, noticing things, allowing time to pass and discovering that being alone does not necessarily mean being without.
